We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join a well-established industrial environment in Preston area. This is a hands-on role requiring both electrical and mechanical expertise, supporting production equipment, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.

The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, proactive, and solution-focused, with a strong background in industrial engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical and mechanical fault finding on industrial machinery
• Planned and reactive maintenance
• Installation, repair, and replacement of electrical components
• Supporting continuous improvement and suggesting process enhancements
• Working collaboratively within an engineering and production team
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards

Electrical Experience Required

• Sensor fault finding and replacement
• Motor swaps and installations
• PLC experience (fault finding / basic diagnostics)
• Inverter / VFD drives
• Three-phase installation and fault investigation
• Electrical testing and diagnostics

Mechanical Experience Required

• Bearing replacement
• Pneumatics and air systems
• General fabrication and mechanical fitting
• Mechanical fault diagnosis and repairs

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ industrial engineering experience
• Minimum BTEC Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
• 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Strong understanding of industrial maintenance environments
