We are currently recruiting Seasonal Gardeners / Grounds Maintenance Operatives on behalf of our local authority client based in Fleetwood.

This is a fantastic opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals looking for seasonal work within the Parks and Greenspace Team. Working across Fleetwood and the surrounding areas, you’ll help maintain parks, public open spaces and recreational areas to a high standard throughout the season.

A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role. Please do not apply if you do not hold a current Full UK Driving Licence.

Job Responsibilities

As a Seasonal Gardener / Grounds Maintenance Operative, your duties may include:

• Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers
• Strimming and edging
• Weed control
• Hedge trimming and shrub pruning
• General grounds and estate maintenance
• Litter picking and emptying public bins
• Planting and assisting with horticultural landscaping projects
• Maintaining sports pitches and green spaces
• Assisting with minor landscaping and infrastructure maintenance
• Safely using a range of gardening equipment, machinery and work vehicles
• Following all health & safety procedures
• Working as part of a team to maintain parks and public open spaces

Hours Available

Full-time hours available:

Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm

Weekend overtime may be available during busy periods.

Pay Rate

£13.05 per hour

Requirements

We’re looking for candidates who are:

• Reliable and punctual
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Hardworking with a positive attitude
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Previous gardening, grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticultural experience is preferred
• Able to safely operate gardening equipment and machinery

Essential Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

• Category B+E (trailer towing) entitlement
• Experience working for a local authority, contractor or grounds maintenance company

Location & Transport

The work is based across Fleetwood and the surrounding areas. A Full UK Driving Licence is essential, as travel between sites is required throughout the working day.
