Press Brake Operator – Preston
MasterStaff are currently recruiting an experienced Press Brake Operator to join a well-established manufacturing company based in the Preston area.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, ideal for an experienced Press Brake Operator looking for consistent hours, competitive pay and the opportunity to develop their career within an established manufacturing environment.
Pay: £14.36 – £16.00 per hour
The Role
As a Press Brake Operator, you’ll be responsible for setting up, programming and operating press brake machinery to produce high-quality metal components while working from engineering drawings and specifications.
Your duties will include:
- Setting up, programming and operating press brake machinery
- Bending and shaping metal components to required specifications
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Adjusting machine settings and tooling for different jobs
- Producing accurate, high-quality metal components
- Checking finished components to ensure they meet quality standards
- Using measuring equipment to check dimensions and accuracy
- Performing routine machinery checks and basic maintenance
- Identifying and reporting any production or quality issues
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Keeping your work area clean and organised
- Working effectively with other members of the production team
- Following workshop health and safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator who is:
- Experienced in operating press brake machinery
- Confident setting up and programming press brake machines
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experienced in sheet metal bending and forming
- Accurate with strong attention to detail
- Committed to producing high-quality work
- Experienced within an engineering, manufacturing or sheet metal environment
- Comfortable using workshop tools and measuring equipment
- Able to work independently when required
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable with a strong approach to health and safety
Previous press brake operating experience is essential for this position.
Experience as a Press Brake Operator, CNC Operator, CNC Press Brake Operator, Press Brake Setter or Sheet Metal Worker would be beneficial.
