MasterStaff are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join an established manufacturing company.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity working Monday to Friday, ideal for an experienced engineer with strong mechanical, electrical and fault-finding skills who enjoys keeping manufacturing machinery running safely and efficiently.
Salary: £35,000 per year
The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, servicing and repairing manufacturing equipment to ensure machinery remains safe, reliable and operational.
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and servicing
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical breakdowns
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting manufacturing machinery
- Working with and fault-finding on HMI-controlled equipment
- Minimising machinery downtime and disruption to production
- Carrying out routine machinery inspections
- Identifying potential faults before they result in breakdowns
- Supporting the installation, setup and commissioning of machinery where required
- Maintaining accurate maintenance and servicing records
- Working closely with production teams to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Following site health and safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is:
- Experienced in mechanical engineering and machinery maintenance
- Confident diagnosing and repairing mechanical breakdowns
- Skilled in electrical fault-finding and maintenance
- Experienced working with HMI and control systems
- Knowledgeable about preventative maintenance and breakdown diagnostics
- Confident troubleshooting machinery and production equipment
- Able to work independently and effectively under pressure
- Practical and hands-on with a strong problem-solving approach
- Reliable with good attention to detail
- Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety
Experience working with manufacturing and production machinery is essential. Experience with equipment such as bottling lines, folder-gluer lines, blister packing lines, tablet presses and automated production or packaging equipment would be particularly beneficial.
