CNC Machinist
Job Overview
We are currently recruiting a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist for our client based in Preston. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (Turning and/or Milling)

Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic program edits where required

Inspect finished components using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)

Ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances

Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping

Work to production schedules and deadlines

Adhere to all health and safety procedures at all times

Identify and report any faults or quality issues
Required Skills & Experience
-
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist

Experience with CNC Turning and/or Milling machines
-
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Siemens (preferred)

Strong attention to detail and quality

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good problem-solving skills
Qualifications
-
Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (preferred but not essential)

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
